More Wisdom from Song Lyrics

Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose
And nothin' ain't worth nothin', but it's free
"Me and Bobby McGee"
Kris Kristofferson

Most commonly recognized as sung by Janis Joplin. However, Roger Miller was the first one to record it. My favorite is Kris Kristofferson's version.

Luke 12:24 in The Message says "Look at the ravens, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, carefree in the care of God."
Matthew 6:26 is similar " Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds."

We must be like the birds, letting nothing weigh us down. Only when we realize that  it all belongs to Him, can we truly be free. As long as our possessions, money, worldly desires, ego, (whatever it is for you), ties us down, we can never be free. We must let these things go and surrender to Him. Only then can we truly be free.

From the song, "Like a Rolling Stone" the lyrics -
"When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose. You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal."
